Groupi is a web application that enhances and captures group learning experiences while helping students and teachers to maintain a constant communication link.
The application was created to engage students during courses with interactive tasks and evaluations allowing professors to check their students’ accomplishments and present their results in real-time all on a single page.
Students can search for class materials and ask questions after class when needed. The application creates a summary of every class including charts, abstracts, and media.
The Challenge
It’s proven that if the student enjoys the learning process, the ability to retain new information will be enhanced. To create an innovative, engaging experience for students, Groupi needed a web app that would facilitate interactions in real-time.
They wanted to establish a constant communication link and provide a tool for both, teachers and students, to get a summary of how the course is going. This would involve a large amount of data for the app to manage.
What we did
With our vast experience managing web and mobile applications with dynamic content, we created not only an application capable of swapping and modifying elements but also a powerful backend system designed to store thousands of files and grow when needed. This was all achieved using the Amazon architecture system and Python/Django.
Results & Takeaways
The app is used throughout various classes and conferences, generating positive feedback with both teachers and students.
Every day more apps like Groupi are being included in the Education System changing the way professors teach and students learn. The project took 2 developers and 5 months.
