The Challenge

Kolinx needed a secure app with robust features and functionalities. They needed a vendor to help with creating this app from inception not only to address ease of use for the user experience but also to address the security requirements with handling financials.

The challenge included integrating several third-party services, creating a hybrid mobile app, an AWS infrastructure, and a vast scope of functionalities.

What we did

We took on the challenge, managed the different parts of the project, and met the desired schedule using Agile methodology. By delivering weekly releases, we could get the most out of the client’s constant feedback and guarantee the project’s success.

The mobile app was developed using Ionic Framework 2. The backend is written in Python/Django and powered by DRF (Django Rest Framework). These technologies allowed us to create a powerful and extensible set of APIs that would be able to handle the heavy load.

Kolinx uses a customized set of Ansible scripts to guarantee fast and reliable server configurations. Since Kolinx allows in-app purchases, the core of the backend is designed as a transactional system to guarantee the safety and data consistency.

Regarding scalability, we made use of asynchronous processing of key features of the app allowing the infrastructure to resize itself on high/low demand and improve latency times.

Results & Takeaways

Delivering within budget and timeline, the Innuy team provided our client with a robust app offering financial services to kids in the US and encouraging them how to save and spend responsibly.
